As Catholics, we are obliged to vote. But who will tell us how?

The Church will not tell us who, or what, to vote for.  Rather, we must decide for ourselves, based on broad principles taught by the Church and rooted in the Gospels.  It is our duty to inform ourselves, using that guidance, and to vote in ways that will be pleasing to Christ.

To assist us in this process, CatholicVoters offers direct links to relevant mainstream media news items, quickly searchable by candidate, issue, and/or election, with cross-references to the teachings of Christ and his Church.

All Catholics, all Christians, and all people of good will are invited to use this site -  preferably in conjunction with prayer – as a resource in their decision-making process.  All people of good will are also invited to share categorized links to relevant news items: the site is only as good as the input it receives.

As far as possible citizens should take an active part in public life.”

One Response to “As Catholics, we are obliged to vote. But who will tell us how?”

  1. Excellent resource guide for the looming elections across Canada.
Local, Provincial and National federal Elections will now be embraced with a greater measure of confidence due to the guidelines you are providing here, related to Catholic Social Teaching.
Thank you for all the work you have done to prepare this site and to keep it current with developments on the ground in the days and weeks ahead.
